Over the past 10 years I have helped over 800 business owners catch the break in their business that it needed to thrive and grow to be successful. It seems like just yesterday I was still at my desk in Blue Field elementary teaching kindergarteners.
I am an avid reader and I have been since I was old enough to pretend to read books as a kid. Personal development has always been my favorite genre so let’s get into 7 must read books for personal growth.
These books range from books about body positivity, finances, inner personal growth, personal mindset for business and planning for the best future while also improving your mind.
This book is literally EVERYTHING. It will make you want to get off your ass and push yourself PAST your limits, your weak thoughts and build a life you actually desire. David is wild af and I have yet to come across another person with the same level of intensity and determination as him. By far one of the most inspiring and motivating go-getters in my library. (David also has a second book out that is phenomenal but read this one first.) #stayhard
Rachel definitely helped me get my mind right and grow in my business. Mindset was one of the biggest reasons why I struggled in the beginning of my business. I also feel like this book helps us to look at the power that comes from being a successful person who also has a good amount of money. Oh the things we could do, the change we could create, the legacy we can leave behind. Rachel is such a strong and encouraging leader and her book is a testament to that and a true inspiration for those who want more out of life.
This book I found because it was an Oprah’s book club pick many years ago and when I tell you it changed my life, it truly changed my life. This book is small but mighty- it’s short but so deep and it’s worth picking up and coming back to again and again. I will say it’s one of those books that whenever I find a pristine copy at the used book store I buy it so I can gift it to someone. Now I will say, it’s worth reading this one and journaling as you go or talking with some of the topics and ideas with a friend because it’s such a deep book… Consume it how you’d like, but know it’s a worthy book to consider when wanting more out of your everyday experience living in your body in this life.
Tiffany is incredible and her story is so inspiring. She definitely shows you what can happen when you put yourself out there, try something that calls you in and let the Universe guide it into fruition. Tiffany was recently on a Netflix show about money and when I tell you she is the first person to make finances seem doable to me, she is the first person to do it. Financial growth is personal growth to me!
This book is important for all of us to read because we all have a body and we all have a variety of experiences with it throughout our entire lives. Sonya teaches us that our bodies are not to be hidden and ashamed of and something we’re embarrassed by and we, as a culture and a society, need to rethink what it means to come anywhere outside what’s been deemed “average” or “appropriate” or even “acceptable” and own who we are in our own individual ways. An incredible book and something I think we should all consider and learn more about because this is work that can truly change the world.
This book was on a book club list for an entrepreneur buddy of mine (Erin on Demand) and being the nosey person I am, I saw it and immediately bought it online and devoured it. I love the reframe around looking at time and how we plan annually and the tips were not only doable but they actually made sense in my everyday life. This book also helped me to narrow down my gigantic (& quite messy) focus and help me to break down my tasks into bite-size pieces and while also helping me game-ify my goal planning experience. Amazing!
Jim Kwik is sensational- I mean what else is there to say about this guy? We’ve all felt like we’re not smart enough but his story gets you to understand what it’s like to feel or be told one thing but to produce something totally mind blowing. Brain health is important to me and let’s be real: who doesn’t want to be limitless??? Jim Kwik is an amazing storyteller, teacher and has a knack for taking scientific information and making it so relatable you don’t even get overwhelmed with the fancy stats or big words. I felt encouraged and motivated to push myself and take care of my brain so I can preform better and show up as the best version of myself.
